I hate the phrase "unexplained infertility." My mind rages at the thought that in the year 2008 there are things and operations within our reproductive organs that are "unexplained". We have made huge advances in science and medicine over the past 10 years. Hell, we can clone a dog! So, why can't someone tell me why I can't get pregnant without assistance and why isn't someone working to fix it?

I have unexplained infertility -- except I have endometriosis --which, I'm told, means that it's not unexplained. The cactch is this: I had laparoscopy surgery, but did not get pregnant as a result of the surgery. I did one cycle of IVF with a one-egg transfer (at my request) and got pregnant. I've had unprotected sex with my husband for the past 10 years and have never been able to get pregnant on my own. I have normal and regular periods and normal hormone levels, a good uterine lining and a good ovarian response. My HCG showed open tubes.
